Local Elected Official: Kari Galassi has a history of showing up for the community
I’ve known Kari Galassi for over 10 years, and one thing that has always stood out to me is her steady, genuine commitment to serving her community. Kari is someone who consistently shows up for her neighbors, local organizations and the people who count on her.
I first got to know her through the Monroe PTO, where she brought me in to help with the yearbook and spent countless hours taking photos of our kids and capturing those special moments for our school community.
Over the years, I’ve seen Kari make a difference by giving her time and energy to so many things that matter. I’ve watched her help raise funds for the NICU at Hinsdale Hospital, support those experiencing domestic violence, and mentor Hinsdale Central students about leadership and the importance of getting involved in their community. She doesn’t just talk about caring for our community; she gets involved and does the work.
Kari brings that same commitment to her service on the DuPage County Board. She cares about the people she represents; she listens and she shows up. To me, that’s what good leadership looks like. — Michelle Fisher, Hinsdale Village Trustee
