Kari in the News Bettering Our Community
Unincorporated Willowbrook Resident: I support Kari Galassi after seeing her in action
My support is not based on political party, gender or any particular brand of government. I support leaders based on what I personally see them do, especially for people and communities that are furthest from opportunity. Kari has made herself available to our community, and she has kept her word.
Local Elected Official: Kari Galassi has a history of showing up for the community
I’ve known Kari Galassi for over 10 years, and one thing that has always stood out to me is her steady, genuine commitment to serving her community. Kari is someone who consistently shows up for her neighbors, local organizations and the people who count on her.
Ying “Lucy” Zhou: A ‘Yes’ I still remember from Kari Galassi
A few years ago, I was helping organize a new multicultural Lunar New Year celebration in Hinsdale. I had lived in the community for nearly 10 years, but I still had few civic connections. As a first-generation immigrant, language and cultural barriers made that outreach intimidating.
I contacted officials at several levels of government. Kari Galassi was the first to say yes.
Independent likes Galassi’s nonpartisan approach
As an Independent-voting emergency room physician, I see firsthand the growing mental health crisis and the urgent need for bipartisan efforts for effective community resources. That is one reason I support Kari Galassi for re-election to the DuPage County Board.

It was 2020 when I first met Kari. Her reputation as a philanthropist and Hinsdale leader was made known to me by the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. I was leading a campaign to renovate our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hinsdale Hospital, a bold and creative dream that would modernize our facilities to complement the cutting-edge medical care that was being provided. The foundation leaders said that if we were fortunate enough to get Kari on-board, she could jump-start our campaign.

Initiative Will Help the Tiniest Patients
Hinsdale's Kari Galassi was happy to help when friend and fellow Hinsdale Hospital Foundation board member Shana Robertson asked her to assist in raising money to renovate the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Amita Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale.
But it wasn't until she took her first tour of the NICU a couple of months ago that she truly comprehended the difference the project would make.
DREAMING BIG for Hinsdale Hospital’s Most Vulnerable Patients
Local Hinsdalean and NICU Campaign Cabinet member, Kari Galassi, had a bigger vision. “As a mother who delivered three healthy babies, I did not realize the importance of a Level III NICU. Our work has only just begun to help our hospital offer the best possible care and environment for the tiniest of patients.”
