Local Physician: Vote for Galassi for another term on DPC Board

Early voting begins on Sept. 24. So, if you are planning to vote early, you should know that Kari Galassi deserves our vote. She has served District 3 on the DuPage County Board since 2022 with grace, grit, intelligence, integrity and compassion. Kari is willing to serve another four years, thank goodness! Let us not lose the opportunity to have this amazing woman continue to serve.

It was 2020 when I first met Kari. Her reputation as a philanthropist and Hinsdale leader was made known to me by the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. I was leading a campaign to renovate our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hinsdale Hospital, a bold and creative dream that would modernize our facilities to complement the cutting-edge medical care that was being provided. The foundation leaders said that if we were fortunate enough to get Kari on-board, she could jump-start our campaign. Among other successes, the trust and respect that she had gained helping to pass a high-stakes D86 referendum, brought in $750,000 — the start we so desperately sought. Today, that modernized NICU serves the tiniest, most vulnerable patients with grace and dignity.

Increase in crime in DuPage County led Kari to run for the DuPage County Board. Since her election, she has been laser-focused on improving public safety in our communities. This wonder woman is powered by an exemplary family life — married to Nick, and raising three college-aged children. Let’s not lose the opportunity to keep her in office.
